The use of chat (e.g., Slack, Teams) is growing exponentially due to hybrid work. The number of messages grew 5X in the last 12 months. Employees use 12 tools on average & switch context 1100+ times every day wasting a lot of resources & getting burned out.

Over the last 6 months, we have talked to 300+ Founders, executives, managers, and knowledge workers to understand this problem in-depth.

 

Based on our insights and public research, People hate context switching!

Yet to our surprise, every app tries to bring users on their platforms(switch tools) for engagement, as such there is a new need to capture action items right at the moment.

Currently, people are using a number of tools as hacks: bookmarking, sticky notes, notebooks, copy/pasting on google docs/sheets/notion to name a few.
 

Poppins aims to aggregate ad-hoc tasks for tech workers across multiple tools they use daily like Slack, Zoom, Email, Notion, Google Docs, Figma, etc within these tools via native apps and extensions and making it available within the tools for planning and management. We will have our own web/mobile/desktop app as well.

We are starting out with Slack and capturing ad-hoc tasks, we will soon be launching other native apps and extensions (Google meet and Chrome extension's alpha launch soon) to fuel our vision of a personalized workflow planner to save every knowledge worker at least an hour every day, to begin with.
